Eastern Education Foundation Awards School Grants
March 2010Chris Hammond, Chair, Eastern Education Foundation, is pleased to announce that 29 schools in the Eastern School District will share $28,191 in grants this month to support their school-related Arts projects. Since 2008, over $75,000 has been awarded to schools in the District in support of arts-related projects.

2008 Eastern Education Foundation Scholarship Winners Announced
February 2009Jerry Rice, Chair, Eastern Education Foundation, is pleased to announce the recipients of the Eastern Education Foundation Scholarships for 2008. Each scholarship is valued at $1,000. The following 15 students have demonstrated academic excellence and outstanding leadership in their schools and communities.

Chair of Foundation is Presented with Volunteer Award
June 19, 2007In Newfoundland and Labrador, there are more than 4000 voluntary, community-based organizations. Each year over 138,000 volunteers in our province donate countless hours to volunteering.
National Volunteer Week was celebrated this year from April 15th -21st. The theme was "Volunteers Grow Community". In St. John's, opening ceremonies were held at the Fairmont Hotel in Cavendish Square on June 15th, 2007.
There, more than 50 groups recognized their volunteers for the great work they do to truly "grow their communities".

Jerry Rice, Chair of the Eastern Education Foundation, was presented with a Volunteer Award by Lt. Governor Edward Roberts for his dedication and support to the foundation over the past two years.
This award recognized Jerry's leadership of the foundation board, his work with an annual golf tournament each year and his dedication to raising funding for enrichment opportunities and scholarships for students in the eastern school district.
